Amy V. Smith, CFP®, is a First Vice President at Cassaday & Company, Inc. and has been with the firm since 2020. Dedicated to helping clients invest with purpose and plan for their future, Amy brings her 25 years of experience to individuals and couples seeking customized, comprehensive solutions. Through a model of integrated wealth management, Amy assists clients who are often too busy to find time to analyze their 401(k) portfolio, set retirement goals, or establish college funding for their children. She helps navigate all aspects of personal finance, including investment management, retirement planning, cash flow needs, tax and wealth transfer strategies in conjunction with clients’ legal and tax professionals. Suddenly widowed in 1995, Amy also specializes in financial planning for those who find themselves unexpectedly single due to unforeseen circumstances or as a result of their spouse’s death.

Amy earned her Certified Financial Planner designation (CFP®)* in 1998. She graduated from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science degree. She became a Buyer and Divisional Merchandise Manager for a division of Federated Department Stores (now Macy’s) during her 14-year career in fashion merchandising, traveling extensively to New York, Paris, Milan, Lake Como, Florence and Tokyo for fashion and product development from 1975-1989.

Amy has spoken on money management issues for Emory University’s Community Education program in 1999-2000 and conducted Bible-Based money management seminars at various churches in the Atlanta area in 2001-2004.

Amy loves gardening and is actively involved in women’s Bible studies. She resides with her husband, Dan, in Middleburg, Virginia, where they enjoy entertaining their 5 grown children and 13 grandchildren.

Amy is an Investment Advisor Representative with Cassaday & Company, Inc. and a Registered Representative with Royal Alliance Associates, Inc., one of the largest independent broker-dealer firms in the country.
