Karolyn Banks Tax Planning Specialist
Karolyn R. Banks, CPA/PFS, MST is a Tax Planning Specialist at Cassaday & Company, Inc., and has been with the firm since June 2022. As a Certified Public Account, Karolyn’s expertise and passion revolve around comprehensive tax planning that maximizes clients’ long-term and short-term goals.
Partnering with our clients’ advisory teams, Karolyn works collaboratively to plan, analyze, and implement tax-efficient strategies that align with each client’s financial plan. While she does not prepare tax returns for our clients, her focus on best-practice tax strategies allows Cassaday & Company, Inc., to provide up-to-date, congruent advice pursuant to our integrated, comprehensive wealth management strategy.
Karolyn brings over 20 years of experience in tax advisory experience to the firm, having worked closely with business owners and high net worth individuals on their entire personal financial plans, including estate and succession planning. Prior to joining Cassaday & Company, Inc., she was a tax advisor at a top regional accounting firm in Philadelphia. Karolyn holds the Certified Public Accountant/Personal Financial Specialist (CPA/PFS) designation. The PFS designation is granted by the American Institute of Public Accountants to CPA’s who have demonstrated tax expertise and comprehensive knowledge of financial planning.
Karolyn holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA, where she graduated cum laude. She also has a Master of Taxation degree from Philadelphia University. Karolyn is a member of both the American (AICPA) and Pennsylvania (PICPA) Institutes of Certified Public Accountants. She previously served on both the Relations with Schools Committee and the Executive Committee of the PICPA and, in 2011, PICPA recognized her on its “40 Under 40 Members to Watch” list.
Karolyn currently lives in Aldie, VA with her husband, Larry. In her free time, she enjoys teaching dance fitness classes as a certified Zumba instructor.
