Alex Karkeek, CFP®, CMFC®, is a Partner at Cassaday & Company, Inc. and has been with the firm since 2011. Alex works collaboratively with his clients to help them make important life decisions, set financial goals, and plan for the future. By embracing a model of integrated wealth management, he addresses all of the relevant areas of personal finance including investment management, taxes, wealth accumulation, cash flow generation, insurance, and estate planning to generate comprehensive financial plans for his clients.

Alex is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®)*, a professional designation he attained through Georgetown University’s Executive Certificate in Financial Planning program, as well as a Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor (CMFC®), accomplished through the College for Financial Planning.

Alex is a senior member of Cassaday & Company, Inc.’s Investment Policy Committee (IPC), which develops the firm’s overall investment selections and policies. He assists with collaboratively reviewing our clients’ holdings and asset allocations, market conditions, research studies, economic analyses, and other areas relevant to the investment process.

Alex is also a member of Cassaday & Company, Inc’s Donor Advised Fund. As a member of the board of trustees for the Donor Advised Fund, Alex takes an active role in determining the beneficiaries of the fund, the allocation of distributions, and is dedicated to improving support of the fund. The mission of the Donor Advised Fund is to create opportunities that otherwise would not exist by providing basic necessities like food, water, medical care, refuge, shelter, sanctuary, education, and training.

Alex is a graduate of Radford University, where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management. While at Radford, Alex competed on the Radford Division I Men’s Varsity Golf Team. Originally from the United Kingdom, Alex now lives in Falls Church, Virginia, with his wife Kellee, son Jackson, daughter Scottie, and golden retriever, Stella.

He holds the Series 7 and Series 66 securities registrations, as well as Life and Health Insurance licenses.

Forbes Best-In-State Next-Gen Wealth Advisors (2019–2021, 2023–2025) – The Forbes Best-In-State Next-Gen Wealth Advisors ranking was issued by Forbes and SHOOK Research in August 2025. Advisors considered for the ranking were required to be born in 1986 or later and have a minimum of four years of experience as an advisor. Winners were selected based upon an algorithm of qualitative and quantitative criteria gathered primarily through telephone and in-person due diligence interviews. The methodology considered factors including revenue trends, assets under management, compliance records, industry experience, and adherence to best practices. Portfolio performance was not a criterion due to varying client objectives and the lack of audited performance data. The ranking was based on data compiled by SHOOK Research as of March 31, 2025. Cassaday & Co. did not pay a fee for nomination, receipt, or promotion of the award.

Forbes Best-In-State Wealth Advisors (2025–2026) – The Forbes Best-In-State Wealth Advisors ranking was issued by Forbes and SHOOK Research in June 2026. Advisors considered for the ranking were required to have a minimum of seven years of experience. Winners were selected based upon an algorithm of qualitative and quantitative criteria obtained through telephone, virtual, and in-person due diligence interviews. The methodology considered factors including revenue trends, assets under management, compliance records, industry experience, and best practices in serving clients. Portfolio performance was not a criterion due to varying client objectives and the lack of audited performance data. Cassaday & Co. did not pay a fee for nomination, receipt, or promotion of the award.

Investment News Top Financial Professionals in the US (2024–2026) – The Investment News Top Financial Professionals in the US ranking was issued by Investment News in February 2026. Investment News solicited nominations from advisors, industry professionals, and clients for consideration. Winners were selected based upon a weighted ranking of overall assets under management, assets under management growth, and client growth. Investment News tabulated rankings within each category and combined those scores to determine each advisor’s final ranking on the Top Financial Professionals list. No clients were contacted as part of the selection process. Cassaday & Co. did not pay a fee for nomination, receipt, or promotion of the award.

Leadership Center for Excellence 40 Under 40 Honoree (2017) – The Leadership Center for Excellence 40 Under 40 recognition was issued by the Leadership Center for Excellence in September 2017. Individuals considered for the award were required to be under the age of 40, live or work in Northern Virginia, and be nominated by an individual who worked with them in a professional or volunteer capacity. Self-nominations were not permitted. Nominees completed an application that was reviewed by an anonymous selection committee. Winners were selected based upon professional and personal achievements, civic engagement, and personal impact within the Northern Virginia community. Cassaday & Co. did not pay a fee for nomination, receipt, or promotion of the award.

Northern Virginia Magazine Top Financial Professional (2025) – The Northern Virginia Magazine Top Financial Professional recognition was issued by Northern Virginia Magazine in September 2025. Financial associations throughout Northern Virginia were invited to nominate financial advisors in various professional categories for consideration. Winners were selected based upon receiving the highest number of nominations from participating financial associations. Cassaday & Co. did not pay a fee for nomination, receipt, or promotion of the award.
