What is the Inc. Best Workplaces Award?
Inc.‘s annual Best Workplaces program identifies companies across the United States that have built exceptional workplace cultures. Employee feedback, not company self-reporting, determines who makes the list.
The selection process is rigorous and multi-layered:
- Benefits audit — Inc.’s research partner, Quantum Workplace, evaluates companies’ benefits, including insurance, financial benefits, paid leave, and wellness programs.
- Employee engagement survey — Employees respond independently to 40 prompts rating their benefits, management, and senior leadership, plus open-ended questions about their work environment. Companies must meet a minimum participation threshold and a minimum score to qualify.
- Editorial vetting — Inc.’s editorial team reviews all applicants against standards of accuracy, fairness, transparency, and ethics.
To make the list, honorees must achieve minimum scores on both the benefits audit and the employee engagement survey.

Best Workplaces (2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2026) – The Best Workplaces award issued by Inc. on 6/2/26 based on data as of 12/31/25 was awarded to independent workplaces in the United States with at least 5 employees, 2+ years in operation, and under $1B in revenue. The financial professional applied for the recognition. Winners were selected by editorial review based upon; answers to an application, an audit of employee benefits, results of an employee engagement survey administered by Quantum Workplace, and vetting by Inc.’s research department. 507 companies were selected for this honor. No fee was paid for receipt, or promotion of the award however $495 was paid to apply for the award to cover the cost of survey and research.
