WTOP News – Top Workplaces

Cassaday & Company, Inc. is honored to announce that our firm has been named one of WTOP News’ 2026 Top Workplaces in the Washington, D.C. area.

WTOP News partnered with employee engagement firm Energage, LLC, to survey employees across the region to identify its highest-ranking workplaces. This year, 9,933 organizations were invited to survey their employees. To be considered for the award, over 35 percent of a company’s workforce needed to complete surveys. The ranked companies were categorized based on employee size – small, midsize, large, and largest. Cassaday was ranked in the small companies’ category.

Energage CEO Eric Rubino commented, “Earning a Top Workplaces award is a celebration of excellence. It serves as a reminder of the vital role that a people-first workplace experience plays in achieving success.” The Top Workplace program, now in its 13th year, was formerly hosted by the Washington Post. This year, WTOP News took over the rankings, continuing to highlight companies in the Washington area that lead in employee satisfaction and engagement. The 2026 list grew to include more than 300 companies in the greater Washington D.C. area – more than ever before.

Methodology Behind The Rankings

WTOP determined that there is no better judge of a company than its employees. The publication works with Energage to rank the Washington area’s Top Workplaces. The process is based on a survey of employees who rate their workplace culture.

The employee engagement survey gathers responses regarding issues related to workplace culture, including:

  • Alignment: where the company is headed, its values, cooperation, and effective meetings
  • Coaching: managers care about concerns, are helpful, and encourage employee development
  • Connection: employees feel appreciated, work is meaningful, working at full potential, and are clued in to each other
  • Engagement: productivity, retention, recruiting
  • Leadership: confidence in company leaders
  • Performance: execution, open-mindedness, innovation, clued-in leadership
  • The Basics: pay, benefits, flexibility, training, expectations
