Award History & Ranking Criteria 

Virginia Business began their Best Places to Work award program in 2011. Cassaday & Company, Inc. made its first appearance on this list in 2012 and has made this list each year since. Virginia Business has recognized Cassaday & Company, Inc. as a multi-year winner, highlighting their 15-year tenure on the ranking. 

In 2019, Cassaday & Company, Inc. was recognized as the #1 Best Place to Work on the small company list. 

To be eligible to participate in the Best Places to work in Virginia survey and awards program, businesses must meet the following requirements: 

• Be a publicly or privately held business
• Be a for-profit, not-for-profit business or government entity 
• Have a facility in Virginia 
• Have a minimum of 15 full-time or part-time employees working in Virginia 
• Must be in business a minimum of one year 

There is a two-part survey process worth 25%/75% respectively. Part one examines workplace policies, practices, benefits and demographics, and part two surveys employee engagement and satisfaction, with combined scores determining the top companies and final rankings. Best Companies Group manages the overall registration, evaluation, and selection process. No fee is paid to participate.
