Stephan Cassaday Named a 2026 Barron’s Top Financial Advisor in Virginia for the 18th Time

Barron’s, has ranked CEO Stephan Cassaday one of the top financial advisors in the state of Virginia for 2026 on its annual ‘Top Advisor Ranking by State’ list. This is the 18th year that Cassaday has been named to Barron’s “State by State” list since the award’s inception in 2009.  

This list is Barron’s largest, most comprehensive ranking that evaluates not only independent advisors but advisors from Wall Street firms as well. On receiving this award, Cassaday said, “We are grateful our clients recognize our firm’s distinguishing factors and are honored they continue to place their trust in us.”   

Steve attributes much of his success to the team he has created at Cassaday & Co. He’s embodied his ideals into his highly trained and experienced staff and taught them to think like owners while making customer service their number one priority.  

About This Award 

Barron’s 2026 Top Advisor Ranking by State is based on data provided by more than 6,000 financial advisors nationwide.

Advisors are evaluated based on: assets under management, revenue produced for the firm, regulatory record, quality of practice, and philanthropic work. Investment returns are not a component of the rankings because an advisor’s returns are dictated largely by the risk tolerance of clients. The number of advisor rankings per state is determined by a state’s population and wealth.

This year, Barron’s expanded its top advisor ranking from 1,200 to 1,500. This change ensures that investors across a wider range of wealth levels can find qualified, highly vetted advisors through the list, while maintaining the ranking’s rigorous vetting standards.

Cassaday is honored to have been recognized on the Barron’s State by State list every year since the award’s inception in 2009, earning the #1 spot in Virginia a total of nine times in the past ten years: 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, AND 2014.
