We are proud to share that our very own Chairman & CEO, Steve Cassaday, and his wife, Mary, have been presented the Hope Hero Award from Central Union Mission.

Originally founded over 140 years ago to assist homeless veterans of the Civil War, Central Union Mission has become a pillar of hope in the Washington, D.C. community. In present day, the institution not only serves as a shelter to the homeless, but it offers a transformation and workforce development for men, provides benefits for veterans, helps those with addictions, operates a food and clothing distribution center (providing food for over 4,000 people each month), hosts a camp for underprivileged children, and offers a ministry to families and senior citizens. 

Steve and Mary have been generously supporting Central Union Mission for many years. Steve said that he considers donating to the Mission as “an investment in the future of our community to help drive meaningful change and literally transform lives.” Funds donated to Central Union Mission directly impact members of the community by providing resources to achieve long-term, sustainable, and systemic change.  

“I think the beautiful, central value to our partnership with Steve Cassaday and Cassaday & Company is trust. We trust them as our financial investment partners, and they trust us with theirgenerous financial support,” Central Union Mission’s COO, Sally Cox, said. 

In addition to Steve and Mary’s generous giving, Cassaday & Company employees support Central Union Mission through the firm’s Charitable Fund. This fund was established in 2008 to enable employees to easily participate in a company-wide charitable effort.
